Thank God it’s the weekend!  The past few weeks have been a slog and I’m really looking forward to not wearing work clothes, a glass of wine and a good book.  Also, I’m nerding out and going to a puppy festival on Sunday.  Puppies + Costumes = Amazing.

Work Appropriate?

So there’s no doubt that, with the turtleneck, this outfit is completely work appropriate.  But what about with the black, silk tank?  My organization is fine with bare arms, but does it look too much like a date outfit?  Maybe I should play it safe and bring a cardigan…

Travel Light

I’ve had a lot of event travel (weddings, benefits, conferences, etc.) lately and I finally feel that I’ve got a handle on packing for this type of thing.  Usually I blow it by packing way too many shoes.  Two is my hard limit now.  I’m a reformed woman.  Two pairs of shoes, a two color palate and just a sprinkling of jewelry.

Puppy

It’s been a strange couple of weeks here, but in lighter news we got a puppy!  I’m trying not to get too carried away with the puppy stuff, but it’s difficult.

 

Rainy Day Travel

It’s always a challenge to put together an outfit that’s comfortable enough for the 4 hour train ride to New York, but polished enough that I can go out with friends as soon as I arrive.  Sadly, it’s supposed to rain all day.  But at least I’ll feel cute.

Tea and Oranges

The snow storm rages on.  It’s time to double down on cozy indulgences to counteract the winter blues.  I recommend lighting some candles, listening to the radio and enjoying some tea and oranges, a la Leonard Cohen.  If the situation feels truly desperate, a particularly splurge-y bubble bath may be called for.

Lolling About

Just when I thought Cambridge was melting into spring, another snow storm blows in.  But let us not be downhearted.  This weather provides an excellent excuse to loll about.
